About the Kulliyyah

In 1991, the Education Planning Committee (Jawatankuasa Perancangan Pendidikan) of the Ministry of Education approved a proposal for the establishment of a Kulliyyah of Languages, leaving the university to decide on the course and content of the formation of the new Kulliyyah.

The Kulliyyah started with 4 departments, English, Arabic, Malay and Tourism & Hospitality Management. The first intake of pre-university students registered on 12 June 2012. The programmes started with Arabic and English for International Communication. The University is already offering undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in English and Arabic Linguistics and Literary Studies. Apart from that it is also offering Modern Arabic, English, Malay, Japanese, French and Mandarin proficiency courses. This means that the university is ready to embark on offering degree programmes related to these languages.

Each programme is delivered using the latest techniques and technologies in teaching and learning and is facilitated by a team of highly qualified, experienced and dedicated  Malaysian and international team of experts comprising professors, lecturers and supporting administrative and technical staff.  Both the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes will be viewed by policy makers and others as the barometer of a country’s economy. Consequently, our programmes are continuously complex and therefore respond readily and immediately to global changes in order to remain relevant and efficient.

KLM endeavors to provide you with exciting challenges and fulfilling journey towards building a successful career. Students graduating from the course can expect to be well prepared for any career either in journalism, international relations, corporate training, consultancy or field of teaching and research in postgraduate study.

We are pleased to announce that Kulliyyah of Languages and Management (KLM) has moved to its own kulliyyah building at Pagoh Education Hub, Johor Darul Takzim since August 2017.
